Remember the movie Limitless? If you haven’t seen it, it is definitely a must watch. Although very different movies, the premise is still the same. The Magic pill that can update, undo, increase and create.
This gem takes the “magic pill” theme to a whole new level. Mixing in non-stop action, a stellar cast, and a chill soundtrack as an ex-soldier, a teen and a cop in New Orleans team up to hunt for the source behind a dangerous new pill that grants users temporary superpowers.
Watch for the nuggets of empowerment, the peer pressures and the dystopia of the society that is similar to what we are experiencing today. The fear, anxiety and our world pressures are explored in a rambunctious story with comic flair and dramatic moments.
It’s entertaining and inspiring as you begin to understand that true power of self cannot be housed in a pill, but it is a state of mind. The violence factor is not gratuitous and feeds the story. You can gain a true investment in the characters in order to cheerlead towards the end.
